Shining Faces is owned and operated by Manja Warner, who began face painting professionally in 2003.

Manja's mission is to create SHINING FACES wherever she goes!

Manja loves that what she does creates excitement, happiness, and lasting memories for all involved. From the person in her chair at the moment to the event coordinator, the venue, the client, the event itself, her patrons, or the guest of honor...

Manja's passion is to make every person she works with SHINE
and to give them a memorable experience to look back on with fondness and enthusiasm.

Manja loves to see how people light up when they see her at work and finds that there is nothing more rewarding than to see the expression on people's faces when they look at themselves in the mirror after she has finished painting them because they SHINE! She loves how excited people get and how they love to talk about it and share their experience with others. The cameras are always out, taking pictures and recording video of the process and the final results.  These are shared with others long after the event is over.  The makeup washes off, but the memories last forever.  How great is that?!

Manja enjoys working with people and helping them express themselves through face and body art. She is skilled at putting children at ease and creating a comfortable atmosphere in which people of all ages enjoy engaging in the process of artful transformation.

Manja adapts well to working in all sorts of environments, from children's birthday parties to dance clubs, from corporate promotional events to pool parties, and from fairs and festivals to private sessions.

Depending on your logistics and needs, Manja is available to work as a team or do solo gigs. She also does private bookings in her home or other locale.
Manja collaborates with other local artists to help meet the needs of any client.  If she can't serve you, she'll help you find someone who can!

Manja upholds high standards for quality workmanship and professionalism.  Ongoing professional training is a must for Manja and her crew.  She only uses the best quality cosmetic grade face & body paints, cosmetic glue, glitter and other materials.  Please read the Safety First  page for more information regarding how important it is for your face painter to use only professional paints and materials for your guests.

Manja  has been transforming children's lives for many years.
She worked in Early Childhood Education for 17 years prior to starting her career in the face and body art industry.  Her passion for making a difference in children's lives continues to this day.

Between 2003 & 2011, Manja donated 100% of her proceeds to children and families in need.  As of 2012, Manja started taking home a paycheck, but continues to support numerous causes.
Over the years, the proceeds from clients and customers like you have gone to help the following:
Osannide Village AIDS Orphanage - Bussi Island, Uganda, Africa - Manja and Sonja have both visited this orphanage on seperate occassions.  Manja went to teach the women how to sew on new sewing machines donated by a dear friend.  Sonja went to minister to the children and let them know how much we love them and how we are working to help support them here in the States.  Below are pictures of a few of the kids while Sonja visited at Osannide.
Remember Nhu - a pro-active organization that prevents high risk children from entering into the sex slave trade in Cambodia and in the Philippines by adopting them, educating them, and giving them job training to be successful and self-sufficient without resorting to prostitution.  This is a very difficult task in that culture and economic environment.
Living Water - bringing wells to areas of the world that do not have clean drinking water.  Imagine not having water you can drink or cook with without making you and your children sick!
Invisible Children - an organization that rescues and cares for child soldier survivors.  These children have to overcome the most unspeakable horrors which are way beyond our comprehension.
The Next Door, Inc. - Hood River, OR - an organization that provides services to children and families in need in our community - especially those in domestic violence situations.
Gorge Grown Farmer's Market - Hood River, OR - locally grown produce and artisan foods; community education about growing healthy food in healthy ways
FISH Food Bank - Hood River, OR - because no one should have to go hungry

The photo to the left shows Sonja (center, holding mirror), one of our face painters, sharing her giftedness with the kids at Osannide Village AIDS Orphanage.
The children at Osannide enjoyed being artfully transformed and expressing their individuality.
